The NGO NCC Inc. continues our regional Gender-Based Violence training and outreach programs. The team arrived on Monday 8th April in the town of Anna Regina on the Essequibo Coast.
The first set of training is with 15 nurses from the hospitals and health centers between Supernaam and Charity beginning today at the State House conference room in Anna Regina.
The objectives are for the medical teams to gain proficiency in clinical management, psychosocial support, safety planning, and referral pathways. These will be accomplished by conducting coaching on gender sensitivity, trauma-informed procedures, legal protocols, and survivor-centred care approaches. Role-playing scenarios will build practical skills and the use of technology by way of the GBV Digital Platform of the NGO NCC Inc.
This program is in partnership with the Local Engagement and Action Fund – LEAF and High Commission of Canada to Guyana and Suriname and regional officials.
