The NGO National Coordinating Coalition Inc. is conducting a second round of comprehensive training this week on preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV). The four-day program in the township of Mahdia will provide critical skills to law enforcement officials and medical personnel in the regional capital and surrounding villages.
With over a dozen law enforcement officers completing the GBV training the attention now turns to the region’s health care workers. The objectives are for the medical teams to gain proficiency in clinical management, psychosocial support, safety planning, and referral pathways. These will be accomplished by conducting coaching on gender sensitivity, trauma-informed procedures, legal protocols, and survivor-centred care approaches. Role-playing scenarios will build practical skills and the use of technology by way of the GBV Digital Platform of the NGO NCC Inc.
This program is in partnership with the Local Engagement and Action Fund – LEAF
