As we begin the new year we hear from the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) team on their outlook for 2024. The team is led by GBV Specialist Ms. Buedeen Williams along with  Ms. Nichola Richards and Ms. Vanessa Holder Emergency Response Operator/Case Navigators.

With the launch of our Gender-Based Violence Digital Platform, the Gender-Based Violence (GBV) Team looks forward to 2024 and the new level of reach we will be able to obtain on our continued journey to support survivors of GBV. This Digital platform will improve access to critical services as survivors can receive help through this innovative system of technology.

Our hope for 2024 is not only to provide access through innovation but to see an increase in the number of success stories for survivors who were able to receive GBV related services in Guyana. We will continue to offer and provide our support of Counseling, Legal Services, safe space and referrals to clients of all nationalities as we work towards regional expansion.

Our goals are to continue our outreach programs, establish and strengthen our presence within communities engaging survivors and educating both locals and migrant populations on Gender-Base Violence and services available. We will continue to collaborate with Law Enforcement and Healthcare workers with Training and Sensitization.
