More than 20 youths of the Cummings Lodge & Sophia community had a fruitful session and life skills engagement with Guyanese and Windies Cricket legend Alvin Kallicharran. NGO NCC welcomed the opportunity to calaborate with the A.K Foundation as part of its ongoing Life Skills development programme supported by SBM Offshore Guyana

Mr. Kallicharran spoke on the importance of discipline, maintaining positive behavior and ensuring you are respectful at all times. His visit also included the introduction and sharing of excerpts from his new book “Color Blind” .

Each youth had the opportunity to introduce themselves while sharing their preferred occupation. Present in the gathering was captain of the Stella Maris Primary school who won the 2023 ExxonMobil Guyana Future Warriors Cricket Tournament, Tafari Softleigh who stated he wants to be a professional cricketer.

The life skills session ended with each child receiving an assignment to “look into a mirror and affirm themselves”. They all left with autographed copies of his book.
