The NGO NCC continued its partner capacity building activities by conducting one of a series of trainings on the Gender-Based Violence Digital Platform with the GBV team of the Catholic Churches of Guyana.

This training started off with an introduction and explanation on the Importance of the Digital Platform to GBV advocacy and prevention in Guyana by NCC’s GBV Specialist Ms. Buedeen Williams.

The objectives of this session were:

1: Familiarize NCC Partner GBV officers with the basic features and functionalities of the platform.
2: Empower users to effectively utilize these features as part of their workflow.

began with an overview of the use of the GBV Platform, then to walking through the entire workflow from the survivor consent form to closure. The session ended by examining the reporting features and questions as questions were fielded throughout the process.

This digital platform aimed at supporting survivors of gender-based violence (GBV) and improving access to critical services was funded by the IDB Lab and the GBV program of the NCC is supported by the Government of Canada through the High Commission of Canada to Guyana and Suriname specifically the Local Engagement and Action Fund – LEAF.
