Global Women in Management (GWIM) hosted an exciting two-week workshop focused on Advancing Women’s Economic Opportunities The Global Women in Management (GWIM 74) workshop has brought together participants from around the world, including four representatives from Guyana. Among the Guyanese attendees is the Executive Director of the NGO National Coordinating Coalition Ms. Simone Sills, highlighting the diverse range of professionals taking part in this stimulating educational experience.
Participants participated in an intense period of work over two weeks, balanced with opportunities to network and relax. The workshop aimed to foster connections between attendees, GWIM staff, facilitators, and other professionals working in international development. Organizers encouraged active participation in discussions and small group activities, being confident that this approach will create a rich learning environment for all involved.
The Global Women In Management program, under the Women’s Empowerment focus area, empowers women economically and increases their leadership through collaborative efforts between governments, organizations, communities, and individuals to create an enabling environment for women. GWIM is founded on the globally held premise that equipping women with the education, skills, and support systems needed to lead organizations and start and grow businesses is one of the most important means to ensure economic growth and gender equality. GWIM provides early- to mid-career NGO leaders and entrepreneurs with the tools and knowledge to advance their careers, strengthen organizational systems, challenge restrictive gender norms and policies, and improve and scale women’s economic empowerment programs.
This event was held in Washington United States of America.
