After an intense four days of training of regional law enforcement officers, health care workers and other civil servants the NGO NCC wrapped up their program. This training was centered on preventing and responding to gender-based violence (GBV) in the township of Mahdia, the regional capital and surrounding villages.
The program culminated with the handing over of certificates of completion to medical officers and two members of the joint services who committed to completing their training having to cut short their participation due to work emergencies.
Commenting on the training Ms. Dunn said “On behalf of the Regional Health Officer, we would like to thank you for taking the time to come and provide us with all of this information on GBV. It was well delivered and at no point were we bored. All of the activities and scenarios were on point and relative to our field. We look forward to seeing you again”
The sessions were held in the RDC boardroom were facilitated by Mr. Quincy Richards and GBV Specialist Ms. Buedeen Williams with presentations from Attorney at Law Mr. Hugh Park, Psychologist Ms. Latoya Beckles and Information Communications Consultant Mr. Ishaka Jackman who spoke of the Gender-Based Violence Digital platform of the NGO NCC.
