HIAS carried out a workshop for community leaders, service providers, and partners on Gender-Based Violence (GBV) under the theme: “Training to Service Providers on GBV Prevention and Response”
During the workshop, discussions were formed on GBV, and the role different members play in making a change in each community.
Partners from UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency , Ncc Guyana , Youth with Purpose, and IOM Guyana and Coordination Office for the Caribbean were able to share their mandates and the work being done in Guyana.
HIAS organized a workshop on Gender Violence for community leaders, service providers and partners. During the workshop, gender violence was discussed and the role played by different members in bringing about change in each community. Partners from ACNUR, NCC, Youth with Purpose and OIM were able to share their mandates and the work being done in Guyana.
Professors, case managers, pharmacists, lawyers, gender officers and consultants attended.
NCC’s Executive Director Simone Sills began the NGO National Coordinating Coalition Inc.’s contribution at the HIAS Guyana’s workshop followed by Attorney at Law Mr. Park and Ms.Buedeen Williams GBV Specialist completes the team.
As part of International Women’s Day 2023, HIAS would like to raise awareness regarding the risk faced by many refugees and migrants, especially those related to GBV
